    Ah-ha. Figures it would be the Railway Room. Do you know how the CNR was financed? With an insane permanent tax on everything. You could look it up.

    Yes, ah-ha. How fitting. Perhaps Canada will help develop the technology for high speed levitating trains using high temperature superconductors, eliminating friction and drastically cutting fuel consumption, as a greener alternative for long-distance travel in Canada.

    Railways were built back when insane governments forced infrastructure down the throats of all Canadians.

    Today, if we needed a railway, Harper would just bring in more tax cuts so each family could build its own strip of track.

    I always thought the CNR was financed by a combination of land speculation and misdirected treasury funds, a classic case of government backed crony capitalism.

    Not sure how it intersects with carbon taxes, which appear to intended to stop us doing certain things and will enrich no-one, except possibly the treasury, depending on how they do the sums.
