Over the last four days, the Conservatives have pledged to:

It’s like there’s going to be an election this fall or something.

    If

    this kind of language
is an indication of what the campaign will be like, I
    don’t look forward to it!

Not the kind of platform with which majorities are won, however, unless they get to vote twice in Alberta.

Law and order issues might not be huge with votes at the moment but the potential to move up in voters mind is there.

I am thinking of the Vincent Li case in Winnipeg at the moment and what happens with it. Recent immigrant to Canada, though he has full citizenship, and is claiming mental health issues.

Clearly Li is nuts but wait until the usual suspects start talking about how we have to ‘understand’ mental health, how harsh his childhood was … etc. I think law and order has a decent chance to be significant part of election campaign.

jwl — agree. Li, the immigrant – clearly a poster-nut for the unsafe neighborhoods in Canada. The Bernardo fella too and the Picton pig farmer and that pedophile in Toronto — damn those immigrants.

    JWL,

Yeah, if we get a sudden rash of cannibal killings the Tories can ride them to victory.

……..(and bonus points for tricking the Sun chain into thinking it had an exclusive on that last one.)

And down on the LEFT side is the SUNshine girl. Terrible I know but being a male, we notice such things.

Kady, you forgot the Baird Green Plan, another buried announcement.

jwl: 1) Li came to Canada in 2001, hardly recent. And 2) mental illness is not a crime, it is a family of neurological brain disorders that affects people regardless of the circumstances of their childhood.

It would appear that your hate, like most of your ilk, is based on your wilful ignorance.

Funny part is that it’s obvious that the the Li case is going to be used to attempt to re-legislate Project Jetway and Project Pipeline (the RCMP “RIDE Program”-style sniffer dog checkpoints) back after the SCC shot it down. Now, we all know there is no such thing as metal-sniffing dogs, but all public transit ‘security’ is theatre anyway. Just like the “throw the kids in jail” talk.
