The part of Peter Van Loan, Hyperpartisan Attack Dog will be played by …

…. Pierre Poilievre, now styled as parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister, which ensures that the irrepressible pixie dancer will bask in the Commons spotlight when the Prime Minister can’t be in the House – or doesn’t particularly want to answer pointed questions about, say, the in-and-out election financing controversy.

Oh, come on – does this come as a shock to anyone? Anyone? Good call by PMO, though – this way, the new Peter Van Loan – incoming House Leader Jay Hill – can actually start rebuilding behind-the-curtain relations with his opposition counterparts without having to worry about going all Mr. Hyde for the CPAC camera during QP.

Peirre Polivierre was at Treasury and didn’t he preside over the billion dollar IT boondoggle and then some including the infamous sale lease back of Minto properties. Too bad, liberal still think they are governing, if only they knew how to function well as an opposition party, they can kick the Tories out. There are so many embarassing scandals – billion dollar cost over runs of IT projects (didn’t CPC give the liberals hell for gun registry cost over run???) and ofcoure the muzzling of Kevin Page for telling truth to Canadians. Liberals and NDP has adquate fire power to xpose the accountability scam of the conservatives. But it requires champions within Liberals & NDP who can identify themselves with issues and has the patience to stay with the issues. Agree with Anne that the speaker’s dictatorial move to silence Page can be hugely embarassing for the CPC who came to power preaching accountability.

Rae, Layon, Duceppe – where are your attack dogs?

Oh, and we don’t know who the Liberal attack-dog-in-chief will be

…but I’m sure that whoever it is, as Kady suggested by omitting the word, he/she won’t be a “Hyperpartisan” attack dog like our good friend Pierre. Because Liberals are of course never Hyperpartisan.

john g- Wow! You are really searching for damn near anything to complain about aren’t you?! Of course Kady clearly left out the word “hyperpartisan” as part of an increadibly subtly attack on all things conservative! Thank God we have watchful word cops like yourself to make sure we aren’t misled by missing adjectives! God bless you!

“Hope you’re right about that Geiseric.”

I dunno. I’ve got no qualms about hitting the mute button when his mug’s in camera.

Pierre Poilievre is a unique talent. Watch this man. He’s warming up. Expect him to do great things in the days and years to come. Hats off to the Prime Minister for seeing that.
