Liberal rookie Frank Valeriote will probably not receive a cabinet post in the separatist coalition.

    The election is on, if not now then in a month or two.

    That’s great news for the well being of our democracy.

    Members of the newly formed coalition will be able to truly let the people of this country in on their proposed plans: (of course they will not run as a coaltion, but then, to be fair, who would?)

    the Liberals will have to run with Dion as their leader, but that’s a good thing, as they have just told the country

    the NDP might have to listen to some additional taped-feedback, which might ultimately surprise Mr.Jack Layton himself.

    the BQ might have to campaign as usual; as a provincial party pretending to be federal

    the Conservatives might win huge or may loose, but at least they have given this country and their own party a fair chance.

    Maybe the PM won’t ask for prorogation… looks like the coalition won’t make it to Monday.

    When Three Stooges Rebellion is finally put to its grave Liberals are going to have a satisfaction and a good laugh that their leader on his way out the door have managed to take two other leaders of two other political parties down with him. When we are talking wars of attrition this must have been one of the greatest accomplishments of Liberal Party of Canada in recent years. They just set NDP back for at least a million dollars in cost of leadership convention (if we count drop in donations it might be couple of millions in the next four years). They just set Bloc back for at least half a million if not more. Thy have saved themselves from brink of bankruptcy and set the issue of ending government subsidy for political parties in permanent limbo for next couple of years. That set them ahead at least thirty million dollars. Not bad for a few days work.

    Who said that Liberals cannot get anything done these days??

    You make it sound as if the Liberals should be extremely proud of the fact that they depend on public subsidies to survive. Or did I miss something here?

    Prorogue as planned.

    But have Parliament reconvene on Monday for a spirited match of Red Rover. Winner gets 18 months of confidence.

    He may not receive a Cabinet post …but he has certainly improved his personal chances of re-election.
