Thanks Jaime,

Silly is good, and apparently I was a teenager when it was originally broadcast. But I was a nerd, we didn't have cable, and thought "Coming up Rosie" was the wittiest sitcom ever created.

Know what would be awesome? Redoing the cartoon, but with the actual Misfits as the Misfits.

Jaime Eats Marmalade

And I do, too.

Anyway, Maggie's Farmboy, Jem was a 1980s cartoon, based on a toy, about a young woman who is a mousy music executive by day and a glamorous semi-punk rock star (with her band, The Holograms) by night. Her boyfriend is simultaneously in love with her and her alter-ego, leading to complications, and the band is menaced by an evil band called the Misfits who always try to make trouble and stuff. Each episode contained three original music videos.

I found a few of the videos on YouTube and decided to try and connect them to current political events, just to be silly.

By the way, the show was canceled despite good ratings, because the toy it was based on bombed and the toy company would no longer put up the money to make the show, even though it was successful. The free market at its best.

A Conservative (which I'm not) might suggest that Dion, Layton and Duceppe were The Misfits, who were always scheming but somehow always outdone by Jem.

Truly, truly, truly outrageous!
