		<description>While your figures focus on 2007, I&#039;m pleased to state that Winnipeg’s auto theft problem (total and attempted) has declined 53% since the implementation in 2005 of a number of proactive initiatives including the Manitoba Public Insurance Immobilizer Program.  Forecasts anticipate an additional decline of more than 40 percent in the next year as compared to the current year.

Based on these forecasts, Winnipeg is expected to shed its title as Auto Theft Capital of Canada. For those interested in seeing the progress in Manitoba, and Winnipeg readers can go to:
