In British Columbia we are looking forward to a spring provincial election–and this is bringing out the best AND the worst in our provincial government. Premier Campbell made a promise a number of years ago that he was going to protect our global treasures within the Great Bear Rainforest on B.C.’s central and north coasts. Listen carefully to what he and others from our government say in the weeks and months ahead–AND to what they DON’T say. If you’d like to see trophy hunting ended in the Great Bear Rainforest, (see http://www.pacificwild.org for “Death of the Great Bear”,) let Premier Campbell know. If you think that oil super tankers should NOT be allowed back on our coast–especially to an area that is known to have the most Spirit Bears, please let Premier Campbell know. Ask him if allowing trophy hunting to continue AND allowing oil super tankers to travel right past one of the most important environments of the Spirit Bear, constitutes “PROTECTING THE GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST”
