The lengths to which my colleagues will go to get rid of me for a few days …

Hey, remember that whole send-ITQ-to-the-G20 campaign that Colleague Wells started  a few weeks back? Well, the results are in — and all I can say is: Wow.

You people are amazing. Remind me not to get on your bad side.

Anyway, I’ll fill you in on all the details of you can expect from ITQ’s first transatlantic adventure as soon as I get more information, but for the moment, let’s just pause and appreciate the whee! factor here – because this is going to be so much fun.

    Whoo! Yippee!

Way to go Kady!!! I look forward to your thumb-induced insights. I would imagine your bb is 3G so going to Europe will pose no problems for accessing a network (maybe confirm that before you go).

Also, I’m afraid that with you gone the government will try to pull a few procedural manouevres in committees in the hopes that nobody will be the wiser. Who, oh who, will watch them in your stead???

Wouldn’t it be funny if the British government issues a preliminary assessment by a Minister not responsible for the area, saying Kady is unlikely to be granted entry into England because of her political views? And then it gets all confusing because nobody knows whats going on and the papers report it as Kady being denied entry to teh UK but that doesn’t seem quite right and then only an intrepid blogging MP comes to her defence?

Shhhh ! Let’s keep this quiet. The poor saps will never know what hit’em.

Don’t let the CNN kids distract you with any of those hologram thingies.

Congratulations; a competition won on merit.

A working holiday while the G20 solve the world’s economic problems is just about the perfect gig at this point in time; you’re on a kind of vacation but you have a job and you’re stimulating the world economy at the same time. Now, if you purchased some carbon offsets for your flight that would nearly make you the perfect human being? And that carbon offset would contrast neatly with Harper’s lip service on the environmental file in general and particular.

All in all a tidy case of virtue being its own reward.

Since you will have to visit Fleet Street, if only for the obligatory photo of yourself underneath a street sign, a pint at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese – the oldest pub in London, allegedly – should be on your agenda as well. Plan on standing.

    That’s fantastic, Kady!

Along with so many of your fans, I nominated you. Couldn’t think of a better journalist to cut through the fat and get to the meat of G20 goings-on.

Thanks so much, everyone. I promise to make you all proud — or at least keep you entertained.

    Great news!

  • Jenn

Excellent news! And thanks LesliE for posting it on the other thread to catch my attention. I agree with Lucas, it’s the best news I’ve had all day.

In fact, it’s like a personal triumph, like the Macleans.ca regulars have a power not to be messed with. If we could ever agree on anything else besides this, that is, who knows what accomplishments we could achieve?

Yes, okay. Working stress has me just a tad wacky.

  • Richard Osborne

    Godspeed, little one.
