    Telling that moment of silence,when the fact was raised that the US executed Japanese soldiers who waterboarded American prisoners in WW2. Yes sir, that silence spoke volumes didn’t it – sometimes the truth absolutely insists on being heard, if only for a moment.

    Only some tin pot dictatorship would ever stoop to hiring a hack like this to represent it to the American media, government and people. Respectable countries like Britain, France and Germany would surely see it as undignified to have to reach this low in order to get a Fox TV interview for their leader.

        I was going to use Italy, but had second thoughts!
        Italy’s leadership down there with Canada somewhere. They “might” use Ari but not likely.
        They would say, we’re Italy, a real country, we don’t have to crawl around on our hands a knees to suck up to Fox News. PAY for interviews? Never.

          We’re sucking up to FOX News? Are you for real? The PM also met with MSNBC, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal. I understand you don’t like FOX, but it’s the biggest cable news network in the States, bigger than CNN. Just because of their politics you would refuse to reach millions of viewers, many of whom are actually applauding the thickening of the Canada-U.S. border for protectionist economic reasons in addition to post 9/11 “security” reasons?

          There are surface politics and there are politics beneath the surface. While the PM is on a PR campaign, trying to convince the U.S. electorate not to inadvertently hurt Canada by telling their politicians to go protectionist and fortress America, Canadian politicians and bureaucrats are working behind the scenes with American policy-makers to keep America open for business. If it works and America avoids such anti-trade and paranoid measures, then the price of hiring the two Clinton and Bush team members will have been a prudent investment.

          If America rolls over, Canada gets squished. Remember Trudeau’s “elephant” analogy? Better keep them stable, otherwise…

    I think he did OK, actually. The problem is that he is being paid, here, to defend an indefensible position. There was no way he could do his job and not look like a dishonest buffoon.

    I’m not a huge Paul Begala fan normally but he was absolutely awesome during this interview. I was blown away. The equivocation on the part of many in the US media and politicians on this issue is astonishing.
