    Didn’t Harper claim back in 2005 or 2004 that Canadians need not worry about giving him a “majority” government, because the courts among other entities would keep him in check?

    He appears to have been correct (thankfully) in his assessment.

    Harper has definitely jumped the shark with this one.

    The MPCC is going to probe an unconscionably horrific policy of transferring detainees to certain torture. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tories try to replace the head of the MPCC to stop this.

      That would be rather flagrant and blatant, even by Harper’s standards, don’t you think?
