    #1 is insane. At a face-off!?!

I’ve seen a lot more blatant cheap shots than a few on this list. #10 is a clean check, #8 is questionable at best and #6 could only be called a cheap shot if Varlamov didn’t that slap in the face coming.

Your #1 is a little weak as well. Mike Brown’s hit on Jiri Hudler in the Wings/Anaheim series was a cheap shot. Most of these? Not so much.

These hits would be a lot more tolerable if the NHL gave out and upheld suspensions. Brashear got 6 games yet didn’t even make the list. Yet Cammalleri gets 0? Some of those are clean or accidental (i.e. Gonchar/Ovechkin), but how can the NHL say what Cammalleri did was part of the game?

All of these incidents are dirty hockey and they demonstrate the lack of respect that the players in the NHL have for each other. It seems like most of the hits that take place in the game today are simply intent to injure. Professional hockey has become bush league and a blood sport. The only way to stop it and bring back the real game is to severly punish all the goons in the sport but that will not happen any time soon.

If it were intentional he would have taken Talbot’s head OFF.

Those idiots in New York, Bettman & Campbell, are making this a sport of sissies. Soon it will be more fun to watch golf.
