No one thought Madonna would be anything more than a one hit wonder when she came out.
You never know what will happen to Lady Ga Ga. Her songs may not be brilliant, but they are pretty good dance tunes.

All I know is that she is making a lot of fans happy and living a wealthy lifestyle. I expect her to visit StuffRichPeopleLove.com to figure out how to spend her millions!

I am sorry but comparing Lady Gaga to David Bowie is ridiculous. Bowie is one of the preeminent musicians of the last fifty years who created a niche in a multitude of different genres. Just because Lady Gaga goes out and about without pants and in various states of fashion doesn't make her music resonate. She gets the attention because of what she presents herself to be; weird, odd, etc. However, if she was in just jeans and a t-shirt would anyone talk about Lady Gaga? I don't think so, she would just be one of the many moderately talented artists in music today. No one today is making lasting music that will be talked about like the Beatles or the Stones. No one is carving a new genre like the Ramones or the pioneers of hip-hop. So when you have a depleted talent pool, where everyone sounds the same and looks the same, the one person who chooses to present themselves as something different is bound to get attention. If Bowie put out the Ziggy Stardust LP as David Bowie, instead of releasing it as his alter ego, the music would still be as important as it was and is.
