Baird Games

I think Mr. Baird is right, Michael Ignatieff is playing games, in fact, they are the same games that Mr. Baird is playing… Politics. And it is Canadians who end up the losers.

What I find ridiculous is how so many pundits and others act like it's some base and sinister thing to want political advantage for your own party. Liberals want to govern because they thing they would make the best government for Canada. That's why they're Liberals. Tories feel the same way about the Conservative party. There's nothing wrong with that. It's the whole point of a democracy.

I think the problem is that this type of strategy is really out of date in the internet age.
Politicians have always been slick and full of BS, and much was wagered on a forgetful political memory amongst the people. With the internet, accessibility to the proof of hypocrisy is way too easy.

By all means, fight to gain advantage for your party.
But to launch attack ads against the leader of the opposition outside of election time, and a few weeks later state "What we don’t want to see is more political games… We at the federal level, we have put politics aside.”
Credibility is lacking…

Okay, I have to ask – is Baird in a coalition of some sort with the NDP? I mean, really, Baird wears orange ties an awful lot.
