I don't believe that your intention was to be hateful and hurtful; all the same, I don't like the way you commented on transgendered peoples. It's ridiculous, of course it is; but it is the result of no boundaries being established and citizens that like pushing the envelope.

But your point is taken. Freedom is for bodily functions only. All else is quaint parochialism and capitalism is considered to be some kind of outmoded cult or Wall Street Scientology, with the devout holding the holy prayers over the Wall Street Journal's sacred texts. Or some such.

Or just as commonly, freedom in other areas is just too damned intrusive to the commonweal to be trusted, etc.

So matters of freedom are matters of flesh. As the detractors to Steyn show, for the most part the Left's idea about personal freedom revolves around who you hump, and by what method(s).

According to the headline, the point of the article is that, despite the unprecedented sexual freedom we have now, many of our other freedoms are being eroded (a point with which I fervently agree). But according to the text and the comments, the point of the article is that LGBetc people are weird and wrong, and there’s really no reason that governments should accomodate them. Oh sure, there are a few vague references to other lost freedoms, but that’s clearly not the point.

So it looks like the writer and his fans are just another group of people who believe in freedom, with one exception, and it’s mostly the exception that matters to them. And when everybody is for freedom with one exception, then the inevitable result will be no freedom at all.

Freedom! Even for weird people! No exceptions!

In order to be one nation, you must not only worship the same god(s), you must laugh at the same things. Both religion and comedy create community. The center cannot hold when it keeps moving. It is funny how a group of people who have so purportedly "suffered" is so sensitive. I have been through a lot in my life, and it taught me a lot of things, the main of which is that you cannot control how other people view you, and in most cases, treat you. So grow a thicker skin and get on with your life.

People could call me a Green Jello Sucker for all i care and search me everytime i go to the airpor for the rest of my life based solely on the size of my ears and it would bother me none. I would suggest the same for you.

There are worse things in life than having people judge you.

Gay, straight, or otherwise, do us all a favor: If you are so hypersensitive and socially insecure, go live in another country for a while (or forever) and learn what true injustice is. There are worse things in life than people not understanding and embracing every little facet of you character. Grow a thicker skin and live your lives.
