As he notes in the comments, Mike of the Don Street Blog, looked at these numbers nearly a year ago. And produced a handy line graph so you can more easily understand the decline of our civilization.

    Sigh. Bring out, yet again, the silly "insufficiently outraged against" index to counter the dumb "no legitimate mandate" argument.

      That's not the impression you get when talk to the average non-voter, although admittedly, the outrage has evolved into cynicism and nihilism.

    As many commenters have already pointed out, it's not only about the decline in voter turnout. It's also about the rise of a fourth and fifth national party that compete for vote share.

    In the last election, roughly 3 out of 8 voters supported the Conservatives, 2 out of 8 voters supported the Liberals, and 3 out of 8 voters supported NDP/Bloc/Green. It's strange that Mike of the Don Street Blog never thought to mention this.
