In the midst of a dispute with municipal officials, the former owner of the Baltimore Colts, Robert Irsay, opted for the simplest option available—he picked up his team and left. Less than 48 hours after the city threatened to seize the team, Irsay arranged for a friend's transport company to pack up the team's belongings in the middle of night and take everything to Indianapolis, where the Colts remain to this day. The incident would come to be known simply as "The Move."
