Even though Schott was the first woman to purchase an MLB franchise, the former owner of the Cincinnati Reds remains best known for the behaviour that got her booted from the league. In a series of incidents throughout the 1990s, Schott insulted African-Americans, Jews, the Japanese and gays. The last straw for the league came in 1996, when an unrepentant Schott told Sports Illustrated of her admiration for Hitler's early work as German leader.
