Ordinary people

Granted, “ordinary people” may not see much in this, but here’s the Prime Minister making like Ringo Starr with Yo-Yo Ma.

The full performance is here.

Does Harper even know that this song's about doing drugs, and if he does, has he all but given up on his base :-)

This is a song about rebellion. I'm having a hard time picturing Harper as a rebel. Angry, yes, but not rebellious surely.

I assume Harper meant it as a joke about minority governments.

The rebel in him caused PMSH to throw away his black tie, at a black tie event!

The wonderful thing about it is that he played a pop tune. The fans at the arts gala went wild for a pop tune. For the song that the sort of ordinary people who'd never go to an arts gala would cheer for.

      Objection! Reverse snobbery!

        Overruled.

They are so unbelievably brilliant in Giornoland. This takes the negatives from swift boatying Ignatieff off the table and could seal the deal for Harper. They'll do anything.

It was Laureen Harper's idea, she is chairwomen of the event. Giornoland was 'nail bitingly' nervous about the event.

How many hours of rehearsal? Yo Yo does not come cheap.

I dunno – piano players tend not to succeed politically (Harry Truman had very low poll numbers upon leaving office as did Nixon)…

Sorry Truman one of the greatest Presidents in American history. Didn't worry about polls.
