NUNAVUT
Q. Are you giving seasonal flu shots, and if so when and to whom?
A. We will be closely monitoring the strains of influenza virus circulating in Canada and Nunavut, and if we see that the strains for which the current seasonal influenza vaccine would provide protection are present, we will offer our seasonal influenza vaccine to all Nunavummiut. Our intent is to offer appropriate protection, in a timely manner, to all citizens. The flu season in Nunavut is also later than in southern Canada.
Q. When are you giving H1N1 shots?
A. November.
Q. Were policies changed because of the unpublished study?
A. No. All decisions were made based on the influenza virus that is currently circulating, which is H1N1.
Q. How do people go about getting vaccinated?
A. There will be mass vaccination clinics in every Nunavut community.
Q. Do they have to pay for the vaccines?
A. No, the vaccine is free to all Nunavummiut.

What is the matter with you people? YOur new cover MOST INCORRECTLY states, SWINE FLU in big bold letters.
As if there aren't enough problems for our pork producers, you, our national magazine, continue the FALSE identification of H1N1 as the swine flu.
    SHAME ON YOU.
And on the cover as well.
I'm appalled and disgusted with your stupidity.

take it easy, pk … the majority of canadians don't even know swine means pork. also, most canadians aren't even informed enough to know that swine flu and h1n1 are the same thing. chill out … relax … take this anger and focus it on something more meaningful. get your flu shot and have a pork chop.

      • Smart in Toronto

The majority of Canadians are not a stupid as you make them out to be. We know that swine refers to pork and that H1N1 is the flu that has swine and a few other types of flu mixed in it. It should be referred to as H1N1 because there are several viruses involved.

Honestly, I don't care what it is called, swine bird, whatever. I still eat pork and chicken thats not going to change, I would just like a straight answer on the details of the vaccine, its effects, reactions, etc. I am tired of the media, government etc. providing various stories instead of giving us the facts so we can make an informed educated decision. if Macleans or other media groups were smart they would get someone to review the research and documents worldwide that our health services and doctors should already know or be reviewing and get the public the straight facts if there are any!

obvi you are smart enough to know the diffference since you are on macleans.ca – a newsweekly magazine and current affairs site. or at least i would hope so. unfortunately, the majority are on tmz.com more interested in lindsay lohan and brittney spears than worried about pandemics and what the name is.

again, get your flu shot and eat a pork chop.

What concerns me is no one really seems to know anything about the H1N1 shot and what it's effects may be. I have always gotten a flu shot every year but really don't know what to do now as our Government does not seem to give out much information on this subject besides that some people have died from it – I believe it is 8 in all of B.C. (which is awful) and that they say it is going to get worse, and now some are saying you are more susceptible to H1N1 if you receive your annual flu shot.

How much testing has been done on the H1N1 shot that we are supposed to receive in November, on how many people, and what were the results?

I will be speaking with my own doctor to try and make an informed decision but even then, this is just one doctor's opinion.

Is there any test to see if you have already been exposed to H1N1 and therefore would not need the shot?

Does anyone out there have any helpful information so that people can make these kinds of decisions?

I hear different stories, both good and bad, about both the flu shot and H1N1 shot.

I think this, as Canadians who want answers and are not stupid, is what we should be concerned about, not about pork or other useless information.

The info about seasonal flu vaccination in Saskatchewan is incorrect – this year you can't choose to buy a shot for $20 if you don't qualify for a freebie. For years I've been buying a shot because my doctor has recommended that I should. Fortunately this year I will turn 65 during the flu season so was given a freebie.

So the question is…..Is the vaccination safe for Lizards?

What I gather from the various news site I read on the net, there are three types of H1N1. Swine flu, Human flu and Avian flu. "They" are mixing and matching the different types, giving that poor child what could be either the Swine flu or the Avian flu virus right up his nose. And another video of a woman suffering from dystonia because of a bad reaction to a seasonal flu shot recently. These stories sort of sum up what obviously most Canadians are thinking, no bloody way man.
The people pulling the strings are trying to save some money by not producing all that they need. That pharma company in Quebec is working furiously I'm sure, to get that stuff into the hands of the Public Health Agency so they can infec..inject it into sheeple's bodies, Since they (notice how I keep saying they), don't give you all that you need, medical types add an agent to the vaccine to give it a boost. This added boost, this "adjuvant" they are using, is seriously harming enough people worldwide that we should start questioning the use of adjuvants at all. There has been some documented proof by doctors that reactants like Thimerosal, Squalene and even mercury have been responsible for certain neurological diseases.

When Dr. Butler-Jones is frustrated/exasperated/impatient with Canadians for not planning to get a seasonal flu shot or an H1N1 shot, and this mag saying "Just get the shot" is absolutely insane and terrifying. I didn't appreciate seeing the front page cover of the latest Maclean's and the story inside admonishing Canadians to wake up or smarten up and get the shot.
Well then tell the government to get the adjuvents out of their damn vaccines!!

Folks go to youtube and search for Secret Shots which was a
must-see investigative television piece done by Target 5 WLWT
News… The same adjuvant that has caused so much devastation
via the anthrax vaccine – will be used in the upcoming H1N1
    vaccine.

The best investigative journalist on how squalene ended
up in such shots and the implications of such, is Gary Matsumoto
who has done brilliantly documented such in his book, ' Vaccine A…'

Maclean's most recent cover looked more like something sponsored by The Ministry of Swine Flu Vaccine Propaganda

For a critical look at what's not being discussed about this vaccine

You are totally right. The latest cover of Maclean's made me angry, and sick to my stomach. Did thet get a large cash bonus from the people that pull the strings" for that horrible and terrifying cover?
