Sometimes, the jokes just write themselves…

  3. jolyon says:

    I'm guessing you're correct.

  4. Perhaps there might be a debate between a PQ proposal for sovereignty-association and a Quebec Liberal Party future proposal for associated-sovereignty.

  5. Inkless says:

I attended one meeting of Les Intellectuels pour la souveraineté, long ago now, before the 1995 referendum, as a reporter. The guest speaker was Jean Allaire. It never pays to set the bar too high for these things.

  6. What was the topic? Could it have been « Le Québec a-t-il un avenir dans le Canada? »

  7. Gaunilon says:

I'm surprised they even phrased it as a question.

  8. Inkless says:

My favourite part was when somebody breathlessly reported to the room that Daniel Johnson had said Quebec was built by immigrants and everyone in Quebec was, in one way or the other, an immigrant. Oh, they all had a good laugh about that.

Will that hobo clown that used to have a TV show be there? "Sol With His Peers"

  10. Tell you all what. I'm going to go to this bad boy and see whassup.

  11. Big Dave S says:

Its pretty funny that a conference for
    a) intellectuals, and
    b) seperatists
is scheduled during the Grey Cup. Allez, Le Beaker!

  12. Richard says:

The problem with Intellectuels pour la souveraineté is that they're all IPSO and no Facto
