Magic, and a Happy 2010

by Paul Wells on Thursday, December 31, 2009 8:09pm - 3 Comments

The most beautiful piece of creative work I saw, in any genre or medium, this year was Robert Lepage’s production of The Nightingale and Other Short Fables at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto. It brought some beautiful Stravinsky music that had been largely overlooked for a century to new audiences. It stretched the cast, crew and audience to the limits of their imaginations. I’ll never forget it. Here is puppeteer Michael Curry explaining part of it.

Happy 2010.

    Happy new year Mr. Wells!

PS to fellow commenters: Has anyone seen an actual official announcement on the government or GG's websites that parliament has actually been prorogued?

Thanks for posting that newsclip Brammer. Just about says it all. I just hope the M$M will not let this story die. I know, I'm dreaming. How sad that so many Canadians are so apathetic about how SH is debasing our democratic instutions. I suspect they are so concerned about the loss of their jobs they don't see what this govt is doing. Ah well, once Flim Flom Flaherty and his Leader cuts all social programs they might smarten up. But then it'll be too late.
