Democracy only works if one agrees with the majority government. I do not. I do not agree with the Liberals agenda, nor the NDP, so Stephen Harper's move is fine by me.

This is the Christmas present I asked for! Finally Canadians can see Harper's true stripes!

At 56 I have voted in every federal election since I was 19. Now I am
so deeply disgusted that I am contemplating withdrawing my participation in Ottawa's democratic farce. We elect people, send them to Ottawa to represent us and pay them well only to have things like this happen. Although politically well-informed, I never heard of
prorogation till Harper came alone. He is simply exploiting a parlimentary loophole that was never intended for the political purposes for which he is abusing this procedural provision. It is a sad day indeed in my country when the PM demonstates such
    contempt for our democracy.

The present instance of prorogation is a significant avoidance of accountability, and the most blatant of many examples from the past four years to follow what has become a clear pattern. The government, as led by Stephen Harper, is moving dangerously toward being a government which is answerable to itself only. It is crucial that the media stand to their duty of complete and unbiased reporting.
