NBC will put Leno back where he started, in place of O'Brien

After all that, NBC is back to where it was two years ago

TMZ.com, which broke the story that NBC wanted to replace Conan O’Brien with Jay Leno, reports that Leno has struck a deal to go back to hosting the show. Leno’s contract for his failed 10 p.m. show said he was “guaranteed” the 10 o’clock hour, meaning NBC had to give him a new contract to re-locate him to the show he gave up hosting in 2009. Tonight will go on hiatus after Conan O’Brien’s final show on January 22; when it returns, it will feature Leno again, and NBC will have a bunch of reality shows and Law and Order shows at 10 o’clock. So after a lot of money, rancour and strange scheduling moves, NBC is right back where they started two years ago.

P.S. Au contraire, Mr. Sub-title – NBC will be where it was two years ago, minus Conan O'Brien, it will take Leno a great deal of time to re-establish himself at Tonight, and Craig Ferguson will become a giant of late-late night television (well, the last part is pushing it).

Minus O'Brien, and plus a whole lot of egg on face.

So if Conan goes to ABC, does Kimmel go to Fox, or does his show just die a humane death?

Good Riddance to Conan. He was destroying the Tonight Show.
Just kidding. the Tonight show should have been cancelled along time ago. It was already bad.

This has to be seen. Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on Jay Leno last night and utterly destroyed him with a Jon Stewart-esque smackdown.

i usually don't like Kimmel …he sometimes sounds like an arrogant frat boy….but he was pretty damn funny ….maybe he is the outsider and a little meaner …like when letterman first started

Maybe the cause of the Tonight Show's less than stellar ratings was the Leno lead-in for the local news shows hemorraged their ratings and because their ratings were down 25 – 40%, they were no longer a good lead-in for the Tonight Show.

Leno destroyed his own show, the 11:00 Local News and the Tonight Show with his anemic performance. He should have been the one fired.

i liked the idea of Leno on at 10 because with time shifting for us on the west coast he is on at 7 .. i guess for a lot of people when the show is on at 11:35 it means they have to stay up to 12:35 which is quite late

i just read that he can't bring his signature comedy bits with him ..it's a replay of what they did to letterman

If this is confirmed, let me be the first to say: Holy S***.
