Winter Olympics: Whistler Photo Album No. 2

SCOTT FESCHUK: Somehow, against the odds, even more snapshots!

The judges prepare to score the ice dance competition.

Golly, this mural on the side of a bus made me laugh. Come tour Canada and see famous celebrities like John Candy (time machine required) and Neve Campbell (long memory required)!

Thanks for buying us those pricey tickets to ski jump and taking on this once-in-a-lifetime Olympic adventure, Mom!

The atmosphere in Whistler is terrific. One inspired decision was to place a giant video screen at the bottom of the mountain beside the gondola, which means one needn’t remove one’s skis or snowboard to take in a little luge action.

One of the more popular attractions in Whistler: Take your photo in a bobsleigh! (Homoerotic undertones available on request.)

I came across these guys at the men’s luge event at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Naturally, I took their photograph – if only to serve as evidence that the ghost of Abraham Lincoln and Bandit Santa Claus have apparently patched up their differences. (Which is a relief.)
