It turns out that Canada really did own the podium tonight, thanks to Kaillie Humphries, Heather Moyse, Helen Upperton and Shelley-Ann Brown.

What a difference a tuque makes!! With that outfit Coyne could be any one of the hundreds of guys wandering around Home Depot on the weekend.

And what's up with Bettman/the NHL waffling about the availability of the players for the 2014 games?

Paul, I love how you were able to work in support for the high-speed rail into the conversation. You should have added the Humber Jazz programme and maybe MaRS for good measure.

A country of Excellence all around I say!

Hi there. I was and still am, opposed to the statement,"own the podium".I think it smacks of possessiceness and arrogance.Yes, a persons (or nations) reach should exceed our grasp but "OWNING" it goes too far .It put too much pressure on our athletes and it arrogantly assumes our thletes are better than everyone elses athletes..I think a statement like "GO FOR THE PODIUM" WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.
