this comes as no surprise, but you can put money on it that the announcement will be partisan and likely announced on a Friday in the evening or at the very least when they think no one will be watching. Actually Wells, I blame you! Every time you try to hold our government accountable they cut and run, so cut it out!! :P

Just as they confirmed Latulippe as head of R&D after 10 last night, where today everyone will be paying close attention to the Throne Speech.

It's my implacable hatred of accountability and transparency. I just can't help myself.

Yes but who are you acting for, Inkless? If you can't help yourself, who are you helping?

Looks to me more, along with ongoing twitter comments, like a "Bucket Offence"

You should listen to "colleagues who argue Rights and Democracy isn't an important file. By its actions, the government plainly disagrees, [or places no significance on your "reporting"] ."

It fit's the pattern. Hell, it was just before prorogation that Harper figured out there might be a problem with people getting through the US-Canada border. It took them over a year to put together any changes to the Afghan detainee transfer agreements.

It's becoming increasingly clear that the only thing MacKay does when he's not out playing sports with the boys is sit on his thumb and spin.

"All the vital policy decisions on the western front are now decided directly between GHQ and the Pentagon (with even the State Department and Holbrooke largely sidelined)." Daily Times, Feb 17 2010

Maybe Cons think Holbrooke and his merry band are waste of time since articles I have read say Holbrooke is figurehead at best, as is State Department. Foreign policy being decided by Pentagon and people in White House.

However, Cons don't have the spine to come out and say why they continue to delay announcement, which is greatly irritating. They don't have the gumption to say publicly that increasing bureaucracy is never a solution to anything.

Apart from being a 'businessman' – who is this guy? We've been burned before by people with their own agenda. – remember Chalabi? Recalling the problems between State and Defense during the Bush administration, I'm having trouble believing Obama would let this continue.

Maybe you could invite Cannon to join you and Coyne for your next podcast?

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Inkless Inkless

No way. There's too much blathering and dead air already with just the two of us.

Perhaps a lead parachute drop point for M. Latulippe when R&D completes its' scheduled implosion ?
