The insomniacs among you will be glad to know the budget documents are available online. As a re-hash of everything you already know, they’re positively outstanding:

337: Number of references to the “Economic Action Plan” or the “Action Plan” (announced in 2009)

19: Combined number of references to “Budget 2006″, “Budget 2007″ and “Budget 2008″

1: Combined number of references to pre-2006 budgets (“Budget 2000″)

12: Number of times the phrase “since 2006″ appears

2: Number of times the phrase is used for any other year (both “since 2008-09″)

12: Number of references to corporate tax cuts (announced in 2007)

14: Number of references to the Home Renovation Tax Credit (announced in 2009, expired in January 2010)

    OMG no knew tax cuts! Are you telling me in a budget were the goverment is trying to lower deficit, and has promised not to raise taxes, they will not be giving ANY tax savings in the form of allowable deductions. Never mind that, won't they please help the auto industry the previous 3.3B$ bailout is almost dry. But you know what gets me the most fired up? Its very hard to complain that the givernment isn't doing enough for the people what with these numerous mentions of what has already been given to the general public. Rotten conservatives its like they knew what I was going to complain about even before the budget was released.

    Um, miss the point much?

    It is not whether there are no new tax cuts or not; it is the fact that they spend so much time in a budget talking about tax cuts in the past.

    It is not that there is no new support for the auto industry; it is the fact that they spend so much time in a budget talking about support for the auto industry in the past.

    A budget is about the next year and the year after that, the future, and the Conservatives use it to talk about the past in order to hide this useless budget in which they have managed, in serious and trying times, to avoid making a single tough decision.
