Iran’s ayatollahs take aim at man’s loyal companion

Iran’s religious leaders want to stamp out the increasingly fashionable practice of keeping dogs as pets, citing Islamic tradition that brands man’s best friend as “unclean.” So they have banned all advertising of pets, pet food and pet products. Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi pronounced that that dog owners were “blindly imitating the West” and that “many people in the West love their dogs more than their wives and children.” This love of pets would result in “evil outcomes,” though keeping animals as guard dogs is fine. And not all animals are a target of Tehran. Since the Prophet Muhammad owned a pet cat, named Muezza, Iranians are free to live with cats and they must treat them well.

I never thought keeping dogs are western monopolies, what an education. I believe these Iranian leaders should have their A***es checked, something might be stucked up there? They don't even love their wives, they subjugate them. How do they define heaven? A place where humor, logic, friendliness, and gentle emotions are none existent? A brothel for jihadists? If that so, they can have heaven all to themselves. I'll content myself installing air conditioning in hell, thank you!

Why don't they just admit that the law is what they decide it is, not religion.

  • Ariadne

Iran a country where happiness is banned for religious reasons. God must be so dour and sour faced. I hope God does not look like their Ayatollah.

    • Eddie

sorry to dash you hopes, Ariadne!

      • Ariadne

        God, is that you?

        • Eddie

sorry to dash your hopes again, my friend. i am just as human as you.

          • ARiadne

            Thanks God!

    This is Voldemort-level meanness.

If the Grand Ayatollah Poohbah, passes this law of not allowing dogs for pets,What happens to all the unwanted dogs? Slaughter them?

    • Ariadne

      Shhh! Don't give them ideas.

  • Eddie

you might as well call me god, Ariadne! i seem to be dashing all your hopes today! unintentional, of course. but the "killing" part is normal for them. working towards peace and integrity with the world…now THAT would be a RADICAL idea for them indeed!

and on another note, i am not the best looking guy around but i certainly am not – "so dour and sour faced. I hope God does not look like their Ayatollah" – that bad. ;-)

Don't you think, dogs look a lot better than many of those Ayatollahs, Mullahs, and Imams? Even I love and cherish the faces of English Bulldogs (they are so lovable) , but somehow those I named previously have faces difficult to swallow… probably they are an acquired taste? Can't they sweeten their countenance even just a tinniest bit… please! Is it really Allah's directive for Islam religious leaders to behave and look terrible? As I have heard it, there was a directive for modesty, but to look upset all the time (must be a heavenly secret) ? Those faces could cause ulcer, colon, and prostate cancer.

  • Eddie

man made god in his own image. so.

    • true north

Eddie, Ariadne was talking about Ayatollahs,Mullahs, and Imans..not God…so…

"Iran a country where happiness is banned for religious reasons. God must be so dour and sour faced. I hope God does not look like their Ayatollah." – Ariadne [a few posts back]

don't they believe in god? by another name, ok, but god nevertheless.

      • Ariadne

Sorry, I did not get it if you didn't tell me! Wouldn't that be scarier and one of the biggest blasphemies? Even Allah will seek asylum in Canada, if they forced him to look like them. Did I get it this time? Most of the time, I am so thick on the head…

        • Eddie

"Even Allah will seek asylum in Canada, if they forced him to look like them" – dialogue from "The Girl who kicked the hornets' nest" !!!

        • Eddie

you got it right both times!

    • Ariadne

Yeah his own image, that is the theory! I hope God don't strike lightning their way, that is really blasphemy – they consciously scrunched up those faces he gave them, what a waste of God's artistic resources! The beauty of English Bulldogs and pugs are, they are born that way.

There is probably not the slightest possibility of this blog getting back on Topic is there ?
