    Hahaha,truly a mexican soap opera !!

  • Harvey Mushman

He just needs to bleach it all blond and the Liberals will have their very own Colonel Custer to lead them into the next election…er…I mean the next election after Iggy gets the boot.

  • Emily

More Pirates of the Caribbean I think. Anyway, it suits him.

It's for a fund raiser is it not?

  • Dale D.

    JT FTW!

Coyne was out of line there.

      • JonnyBoy

        He was?

      • lgarvin

How so? I thought his comments were rather bland. Both Chantal Hebert and Rex Murphy made much stronger statements.

        • kcm

I retract the way out of line upon second viewing…his comments were reasonable and pretty innocuous. I just agreed with Rex a bit more.

      • Mike T.

        Do you mean Rex Murphy?

I'll go farther – take away his gun and badge, and it looks like he's too cowardly to meet with two or three other people to engage in an exchange of ideas for the good of his community.

        Pathetic.

    • Humble observer

"At Issue" is like a group therapy session at an old folks' home. How long have these same, sad, ever-wrinklier faces been dominating our national conversation? How wrong have they been on so many issues — the Iraq War, torture, you name it? Yet there they still sit, face-down in the collective soup, like the 25th season of the same reality TV show. Take the corpses out for burial, please.

  • Anon

I wonder if Cyrano is whispering the words to him?

  • kcm

Sounds eerily like his father at times. Has to learn to be less hammy [ theatrical] though. Has his father's sense of fun too.

    • hollinm

He only confirms the latte sucking effete label put on the leader and of course himself. Its enough to make you puke.

Of course he had no trouble speaking for all Canadians in his most arrogant and condescending way. I would argue that some us don't much like the charter of rights and freedoms because it allowed the minorities to rule versus the majority of Canadians. To suggest everybody likes the Charter shows how delusional he and his party are these days.

Keep sucking the latte Justin. Are you going two for two? Your man lost in Toronto and he will lose in Vaughan as well despite the smears. The little girls may like you but another Trudeau leading the Liberal party would be the death knell for the party among most Canadians I would think.

      • Jan

How's that gay marriage you were forced into going h?

        • hollinm

I guess you would have to ask my wife of 44 years. Smart ass.

          • Hedges

But but but…you are a guy, no? Aren't wives normally female?

            Never mind, I get it…..

      • Mike T.

I would argue that some us don't much like the charter of rights and freedoms because it allowed the minorities to rule versus the majority of Canadians.

        ***

I would suggest such people know absolutely nothing of the Charter. And I would be right. Not arrogant – just correct.

        • hollinm

Oh you are arrogant. That is why you support the Liberal party. You fit right in with that crowd.

          • SamDavies

I'm curious – do you not see yourself as arrogant?

          • hollinm

Yes!!!!!!!! Thats why I fit so well with the arrogant ones on this board. We all have a little arrogance in us if you need to ask.

      • kcm

"Its enough to make you puke"

I'd imagine a lot of things in aliberal progressive democracy would make an opinionated moron like you puke.
Most Canadians do support the charter and fail to share you simplistic assessment of its value. Including a certain PM you adore. The charter is part of our constitution so get over yourself and grow up man.

        • hollinm

Of course instead of arguing why I am wrong you resort to name calling. Whether you like it or not I still say it has changed the dynamics in this country where the minorities are in control versus the majority. Perhaps it is you who should grow up. You really are a twit. How do you like that for name calling.

How do you like those liberal progressive democracies in Europe going bankrupt?

          • Emily

Much the same as capitalist NA going bankrupt.

          • hollinm

I presume you are referring to North America. If thats the case name one city, town or province that is bankrupt.

          • burlivespipe

" the minorities are in control versus the majority"
That kind of statement always makes me grimace. How do you know you are in the majority, have you had your 'inception' moment and seen inside everyone's heart? Are you profiling again, ethnic and otherwise? I dare say your leader certainly isn't 'ethic profiling' unless in terms of going without ethics, and condemning those with… The 'Canada' some people are so angry to protect is just as much a fictional personal musing as that which irritates them so.
Of course, this kind of 'strawman' stance works wonders — like quoting stats canada when it shows some positive or negative number that aligns with the CON conspiracy meme; then when the clock strikes 12, assail stats can for its 'dubious results' that don't back up other insidious CON theory…
            Truly pathetic.

          • Dan C.

California…issuing IOUs to state employees is the definition of bankruptcy.

So if you have an issue with minorities dictating to the majority, then the Harper gov't has zero legitimacy…using your logic.

  • PolJunkie

I'm having a hard time taking him seriously with the Zoro thing going on…

    • Jan

The House is looking more and more like a banana republic.

  • lgarvin

He looks like an extra from Boogie Nights.

    • burlivespipe

Take a look at the CON side — it's been a reject casting call from Trailer Park Boys for a couple of years now… Thank Gosh they keep their shirts on, except in their more Costanza like moments…

  • Blue

……..still waiting for Justin to tell us how the Charter of rights has signifigantly improved the lives of non-criminal Canadians in the past 30 years. I`m not saying it has not improved our lives—I`m not sure—but If Justin is arguing that Fantino says the Charter only helps criminals, then he should explain how it helps all Canadians.
Instead he rambles on like a teenager rehearsing his lines for the high school Christmas play.

    • kcm

He's making the point that Fantino's take on the charter is overly simplistic. Sounds about right to me.

    • lgarvin

I'm sure that there are millions of people who's lives have been improved by the fact that they have never encountered the barriers that previously existed. The Charter gets all the attention when it comes up against the hard cases but it's wider effect is in the untold thousands of everyday situations were it's simple existence pre-empts the kind of injustices that were routine in the past; minorities who showed up to look at an apartment only to find out that "it's rented," or those who turned up at their job interviews only to find that the position was filled.

The Charter hasn't eliminated every injustice in the the country, but it's given every one of us a shield against the worst case scenarios. Does Julian Fantino think that all the gays who choose to marry their spouses are criminals? Does he think they should be?

      • Blue

Agreed. I know that minority groups have been the main beneficiary of the Charter. unfortunately one of those minority beneficiaries has been criminals and the lawyers that represent them.
Also it is unfortunate Justin did not use a more reasoned and positive approoach to his argument in favour of the Charter, as you did. Instead he read the script he was given—–slam Fantino and hope some of the mud sticks.

  • BGLong

Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia !!

  • anon

Liberals sure loving putting Justin in the shop window in Ontario elections. Obviously some inflated expectation of the value of his endorsement. Maybe they should ask George Smitherman how helpful this really is.

  • Jan

Fantino has truly nailed the Harper government's attitude towards the Charter.

  • madeyoulook

Now I'm confused. Isn't it Justin who is the evil twin?

  • http://www.invisiblehand.ca/ The Invisible Hand

"You all know that one of the Liberal Party's proudest accomplishments was the Charter of Rights. In fact, it's something all Canadians are proud of."

Not to love the Charter is a great disgrace.

  • Richard_S_Argent

That man really is infuriatingly handsome…even with the ridiculous Three Musketeers moustaches. :)

  • http://twitter.com/gwenstyles @gwenstyles

Justin grew that mustache to promote awareness of prostate cancer (Movember – maybe you've heard of it?). I think it's pretty shameful of Macleans.ca to mock him for it.

  • http://www.TennisVagabond.com Big Dave S

The fact that Liberals really believe this guy is appealing to the average Canadian says it all.
