If you scroll down down to yesterday’s post on those new Conservative ads—”The no context zone“—and click on the video, you will receive the following message.

Once the Advil and glasses of water kick in as well, the hangover will be cured in time for the next binge.

Jumping The Shark has consequences. LOL

    • Mandatory Jedi

It wasn't funny the first 100 times you said it…still not funny.

      • Jan

I guess Nigel Wright got himself untied.

      • Emily

What's funny is that I never said it before….but I'll agree that Harp's ads aren't funny.

  • gottabesaid

It is satisfying to see attack ads come up and bite their producers in the butt.

  • Crit_Reasoning

Common sense prevails. Those two 15-second spots were so half-assed and lame, they never should have seen the light of day, even on Youtube.

    • TJCook

Or this was the plan for them all along. Trial balloons? Throw some talking points out and see if something catches? Hoping for a media hit?

I dunno, that sort of thing happens in the US all the time. It seems unlikely that a PMO so obsessed with controlling the message would leak poorly-produced material for 24 hours entirely by accident.

Or maybe it's been a long week and I need a drink.

      • Stewart_Smith

Since A_logiciann is falling down on the job, I feel compelled to point out that your two possibilities are by no means mutually exclusive.

        • A_logician

Thanks fo filling in while I was off-line.

      • burlivespipe

i clicked thumbs up because of the drink part…

It's actually pretty refreshing to see a political organization admit to a mistake.

    • tdotlib

They've admitted nothing and all CPC sources are suddenly 'anonymous' again today.

    • Amateur Hour

      Puh-leaze.

Conservative Party communications director Fred DeLorey called the ad "accurate and fair" — last night.

These were party-produced ads approved by the party leadership.

  • Leo

Guess it pays for the Bureaucrats to monitor online forums.

    • Holly Stick

      Our tax dollars at work.

      • Dave

You know, it'll drive them right around the bend if we start talking about the seal hunt.

  • Tceh

Too bad we weren't into the campaign with a week to go to the election. These ads had the potential to bury these clown-servatives.

    • Jan

They don't seem to be able to help themselves, so I'm sure this won't be the last of them. Fish rots from the head.

      • lgarvin

Exactly. The Conservative communication team appears to be made up entirely of adolescent boys who can't make a team, can' t get a date, don't have a car, won't get a haircut, hate all the popular kids and are absolutely convinced that everyone else is a "Loser."

They're incapable of growing up. They can only be replaced.

  • TimesArrow

    Shouldn't that be…removed by the loser?….[cough]…just couldn't resist.

Wonder if there's any shamefaces in the PMO about now – or more likely : "Morons! Want the truth? You can't handle the truth. You want us out on that wall. You need us out on that wall"!…

    • Mike T.

If they weren't ashamed of themselves before they won't be now.

  • john g

If this represents the handiwork of Nigel Wright, consider me underwhelmed by his debut.

    • gottabesaid

Would a chief of staff be involved in that kind of stuff? I doubt he had anything to do with it… though he might have something to do with giving an over-zealous underling or two a well-deserved blast.

      • MostlyCivil

No ad would have seen the light of day without his approval.

  • wilson

    CTV Roger Smith calls it
    Ignatieffs Howard Dean scream moment,

that lip licking thing in between 'yes's'
is not very appealing, to say the least.

      creepy wilson.

    • Richard_S_Argent

Yep, "you have proof positive of Liberal media bias in Ottawa. The Libluvin media war room is election ready!"

Does the return of this particular internet handle signal the CPC's intent to have a spring election?
