At this year’s Politics & the Pen gala, Anna Porter took home the $25 000 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for political writing for her book The Ghosts of Europe: Journeys Through Central Europe’s Troubled Past and Uncertain Future. Below, Porter with House Leader John Baird.

    It would help a great deal if our MPs READ some books…and I don't mean books about other politicians.

    I am increasingly convinced that John Baird is actually an Kaufmanesque meta-prank being carried on by WIll Ferrell.

    Also, as much as I love Mr Wells, it irks me that despite my being a couple of years younger and not covering Canadian politics for a living, I nevertheless have way more grey hair.
