Better government through datasets (III)

A note from Stockwell Day’s office, received just now in regards to the “disrepute” clause cited here.

It was never our intent to limit freedom of expression, which is a Charter right.  That clause is being removed from the licence.

    More responsive government through information!

    Spotlights work wonders.

Bit of a headscratcher… seems like a pretty fundamental thing to get wrong AFTER you've already gone live with the site. How did that get missed?

That said, good correction to make.

This falls under the "Crap, somebody actually read that damn thing" file…

    Wherry gets results! Well done.

    Good for them!

We will, however, be forced to hunt down and imprison anyone who complained, as they made the government look bad when it was expressly against policy.

Aside, from that, better late than ever.

Perhaps instead HE should be thanking US? Thanking him sounds like he is doing us a favour, are we supposed to tip him also?

But he did respond and he did agree to remove it.
Contrast that with the attitude that has led us to the committee meetings on the contempt issues.
