Report predicts heavy costs for climate change

Canada could start lose billions annually in under ten years, government-funded agency suggests

Climate change could cost Canada $43 billion a year by 2020, a new report suggests. Depending on how Canada copes with the coming crisis, those costs could rise as high as $91 billion annually in the same time frame, says the government-funded National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy. The report also found that an additional six people per 100,000 could die every year due to heat and air pollution caused by climate change starting in the 2020s.

I know what you mean by could could could. All climate related studies are full of them, even back in 2007 the IPCC told journalists all over the world that anthropogenic climate change was unequivocal, yet their actual AR4 report was full of ‘coulds’ and ‘possiblys’ and ‘likelys’. One equivocation after another. The IPCC fooled the worlds media outlets because they knew journalists would never read it, and they were right. Not any longer, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice….

People don’t trust the green left anymore, and rightly so. Global warming will set the environmental movement back 30 years. Just watch.

scientists marching in the streets and ACTING like it’s a crisis, will we vote
for taxing the air. NOTE! Catastrophic climate crisis from Human CO2 WAS a

temperature to Carbon Trading Markets run by corporations and politicians. Meanwhile,
the UN had allowed carbon trading to trump 3rd world fresh water relief,
starvation rescue and 3rd world education for just over 25 years of INSANE attempts
at climate CONTROL.

Wow climate change costs will only be $5 billion by 2020? What happened? Environmentalists claimed that climate change would cost hundreds of billions every year unless we brought in Cap&Trade, it was the end of the world. If you recall, at Copenhagen we were supposed to pay 1% of GDP to the UN, that was $15 billion every year and that was supposed to be cheap compared to what climate change was going to cost (or so they claimed). Now this report says it’s going to be way cheaper to merely adapt to climate change. So we were right all along not to sign the Copenhagen Treaty, or sign at Cancun and soon not sign at Durban. No wonder no one listens to environmentalists anymore.

I agree David Smith, global warming was a farce until the capitalist governments reverse engineered it into a tax, THEN it became a serious issue. Empirical data and communications showing it to be grossly overstated was leaked, ignored and covered up.

Why would any government want to add an negative hit to any economy by pillaging it for an additional 10%? As an example, the tobacco tax directly removes around 2 billion dollars per year from the economy. That money that would generate taxes every time it was spent and re-spent within the economy which would produce far more tax revenue than the tobacco tax itself. Now the government wants to remove a further 10% from the economy which will further decrease tax revenue.

Does anyone really wonder why the poor keep getting poorer?

The need for taxpayers to provide incentive to industry to go cleaner is absurd. How about this, it is a necessary condition to obtain a business license that you meet the criteria for carbon footprints. No trading smoke and mirrors that will hide the lack of change…. real change. No tax to further pillage the economy and subject Canadians to further cost of living increases and debt.

I would suggest the interest on national debt far outweighs the cost to health care that smokers add. Lets eliminate that debt with the tobacco tax, then perhaps the burden of healthcare might become far more insignificant proportionally. Similarly, If this bogus carbon tax appears, lets utilize 100% of it to also reduce the national debt.

The Eco-nuts need some new arguments because their predictions have not materialized. So let me help them with a scenario that can’t fail.
Humans will have to stop reproducing because for every increase of one to the earth’s population the mass of the earth increases by approximately 100 kilos. If the population continues to grow at it’s present rate the added weight will sooner or later interfere with the movements of the earth, moon, and sun and the whole shebang will go spinning of into space to collide at some future time with a black hole.
That makes about as much sense as believing that anything as infinitely small as mankind can change the universe or any part of it.

How can thousands of scientists deny climate change when
they are paid to study the effects of climate change?

Climate change wasn’t about a changing climate; it was about
controlling a changing climate. Otherwise the blame game wouldn’t be happening
and we would have genuine concern for climate preparedness. Then again, how do
you prepare for warmer weather, it’s just climate fluctuation.

How is studying the effects, not causes of a crisis that
hasn’t happened yet, but is assumed to happen, supposed to be consensus?

And how anti-capitalist is it to hand over the management of
the planet to carbon trading markets run by politicians?

Oh, one more; How is it that there are “thousands” and
thousands more saintly scientists than climate blame protesters? Shouldn’t it
be the scientists marching because after all, it “IS” the greatest Earthly
emergency ever; climate crisis. Thus, undisputable proof of scientific exaggeration.
