Jiroemon Kimura, a 115-year-old man from Japan, has been named the the new oldest person in the world by Guinness World Records.
Kimura was born on April 19, 1897 and lives in Kyotango, near Kyoto.
Kimura’s new status comes after the death of Iowa resident Dina Manfredini, who lived to the ripe old age of 115 and was only 15 days older than Kimura. Manfredini died Monday, her family said.
Kimura is a former postal employee who has 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, reports The Associated Press. He lives with his family and is quite adorable, as the below pictures illustrate.
