NEW YORK, N.Y. – The NHL Players’ Association presented a counter-proposal to the NHL on Monday afternoon.
The sides broke around 4 p.m. for internal meetings.
It was unclear when talks would resume, but there’s a possibility it could happen later Monday.
The union’s offer was said to be a full one and came a few days after the league made some movement in its latest proposal.
The sides are looking to reach an agreement in time to play a shortened season.
The latest the NHL says that can happen is Jan. 11.
