Reality TV stars are known to use new-found fame as a launching pad for their careers.
Former Bachelorette and interior designer Jillian Harris landed a spot on W Network’s Love It or List It Vancouver after her season of the show; Elizabeth Hasselbeck made her television debut on the second season of Survivor and went onto to host The View and now, Fox and Friends.
As it turns out, Chris Siegfried, this year’s winner of the Bachelorette, is no exception. Those of you who follow the show will remember that Chris’ passion for poems, which he wrote throughout the season, won Des’ heart in the end. (That and the fact that Brooks Forester was not interested in her.) Inspired by the “support of his fam and Des,” Chris announced earlier this week that he’s decided to publish a book of his poetry entitled Diamonds + Hearts, A Poetic Memoir.

For those curious about what we can expect from the handsome mortgage broker, here’s a look back on some of his rhymes from the Bachelorette:
“I step out of that limo,
You…standing there beautiful in that dress.
I lost my breath for that moment,
Then thought, getting down on one knee would be best!”
It gets better, as apparently Des is contributing to this literary masterpiece. Here’s a sample of a poem they co-wrote on a one-on-one date in Madeira, Portugal.
“Experiences we share together
keep the memories close to heart,
so that with time
our love never parts.”
In other news, FLOTUS Michelle Obama is releasing a hip-hop album featuring Run DMC, Ashanti, Jordin Sparks and a bunch of artists no one has ever heard of.
It’s a good thing these people have day jobs.
